How to play
1. Signup in the Firetail Octos discord and set your name and region for the leaderboard.
2. Go to the #RankS channel (everyone starts here) and type in ‘!q’ to queue for a game
3. Once 8 people have joined, pick the mode you want by voting for captains, random or balanced teams
4. Add the host’s Nintendo Friend Code. That person will be creating the lobby for the game!
5. It’s go time! Play a best of 5 with your team, don’t hold back!
6. After the game, any player can report the scores, which are updated live and you can view here
FAQ
How do I climb the ranks?
Everyone starts out on a 1200 point MMR (Match making rating). Based on the skill of your team mates and your opposition you will lose/gain points after each reported match score.
Raise your MMR and you will automatically raise ranks!
What maps are chosen?
The maps that are chosen are based on a competitive map list that the community has been involved in.
Upon 8 players queuing and selecting a mode, the discord bot will generate a random competitive map list that the teams have to abide by.
How do I setup my profile?
Join our Firetail Octos discord and visit the #profile-setup channel. From there you can use the following 3 commands to get your profile complete.
!setname: Choose your name for the leaderboards. There is a cooldown period so don’t change your name too often.
!setregion: Which region do you hail from? Select from Oceania, Japan, North America or Europe
!setfc: Set your Nintendo friend code so users can join your lobby if you get selected as lobby host. (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx)
